Latino Alumni Group Theater Outing: El Amor en Los Tiempos del Cólera (Love in the Time of Cholera)
The Latino Alumni Group invites you to their Theater Night 2013 at El Repertorio Español on Saturday, April 20th at 8:00pm and with an optional pre-show dinner at Mexico Lindo on 459 and Second Avenue at 6:00pm. This year the Latino group will be attending the newly adapted staging of Gabriel García Márquez’s novel, El Amor en Los Tiempos del Cólera (Love in the Time of Cholera). Written for the stage by Caridad Svich and directed by José Zayas who brought us the adoption of Julia Álvarez’s In the Time of the Butterflies and Isabel Allende’s The House of the Spirits. Love in the Time of Cholera is a lyrical, imagistic play that focuses on an extraordinary love story between a poetically inclined man named Florentino Ariza and a sensual, practical yet somewhat elusive woman named Fermina Daza. This adaption has toured to sold-out shows around the world. $30 per person for the show, $57 per person for the dinner and show. Presented in Spanish with live English translation. Tickets are VERY limited. Contact the AA ASAP for tickets.
